Our Mission
Nepal Homestay exists to empower Nepali communities by turning homestays into hubs of cultural exchange, sustainable growth, and meaningful global connections. By supporting hosts as ambassadors of Nepal's rich heritage, we enhance their quality of life through programs that promote green energy, sustainable tourism, and lasting friendships.
We use simple technology to make the experience better and easier for all parties — ensuring guests have a seamless booking process, hosts have consistent customers, and every homestay is improved through valuable feedback. By driving tourism to underserved communities, we create economic opportunities that uplift these areas and share their unique stories with the world.
“Every stay is an opportunity for visitors to experience Nepal's warmth and leave as lifelong "Friends of Nepal," fostering a legacy of shared understanding and unity.”
Our Vision
A world where travelers deeply love and learn from the people and culture of Nepal, while hosts share their heritage and bring prosperity to their communities by thriving in the tourism sector.

Nepal's Culture
Nepal is a land of extraordinary cultural diversity, where ancient traditions thrive alongside modern life. From vibrant festivals to traditional arts, every corner of the country tells a story passed down through generations.

Dashain Festival
Nepal's biggest celebration stretches over 15 days. Families reunite, elders bless the young with tika and jamara, kids swing on bamboo pings, and entire villages fill with music and feasting. It's the one time of year when everyone comes home.

Traditional Cuisine
Every Nepali meal tells a story. The daily Dal Bhat comes with seasonal vegetables and pickles that change by region. Street-side Momos, Newari feast sets with beaten rice, Thakali thali on mountain trails, and sweet sel roti during festivals keep your taste buds guessing.

Local Crafts
Artisan families have passed down their skills for generations. Dhaka weavers in Palpa, Thangka painters in Boudha, potters spinning clay in Bhaktapur, metalworkers hammering in Patan, and papermakers crafting Lokta in the hills. Each piece carries a family's story.

Tihar, Festival of Lights
Over five days, Tihar honors crows, dogs, cows, and the bond between brothers and sisters. Oil lamps line every window, colorful rangoli patterns brighten doorsteps, and groups of singers roam the streets performing Deusi-Bhailo late into the night.

Newari Culture
The Newar people of the Kathmandu Valley have one of Nepal's oldest and richest cultural traditions. Elaborate Jatra street processions, intricate woodcarving on every temple and home, and a cuisine with over 200 distinct dishes make Newari culture unlike anything else.

Music & Dance
The rhythmic pulse of Madal drums, the sacred movements of Charya Nritya, the masked Lakhe dances during festivals, Deuda songs echoing through western hills, and Tamang Selo in the east. Nepali performing arts are deeply tied to spirituality and everyday life.

Sacred Temples
Thousands of Hindu and Buddhist sacred sites are scattered across Nepal. The towering Boudhanath Stupa draws Tibetan pilgrims, Pashupatinath Temple sits on the banks of the Bagmati, and hidden hilltop shrines in remote villages have welcomed devotees for centuries.

Holi, Festival of Colors
When spring arrives, the streets turn into a battlefield of colored powders and water balloons. Holi marks the victory of good over evil, and for a day, strangers become friends as everyone joins in the celebration.

Tharu Culture
The Tharu people of the Terai plains have their own language, dances, and way of life shaped by centuries of living alongside the jungle. Their stick dances, peacock dances, and handcrafted longhouses reflect a deep connection to nature that few other communities share.
